Local council registration

Before buying your pet you need to check in which zone your pet will be living in. Go to your local council website and search "pets" or "livestock". Then you should find results, which tell you what you can keep in your local area, in your particular zone. If you live in a residential block, it is very important to check these restrictions before buying.

Goats

If you live in a redistential block you really need at least 1 acre to be enough space for a couple of goats however you will need to check with your lcoal concil to ensure you you can keep you sheep on your land if it is not considered rural.
